Piauí of Rafael Fonteles (PT-PI) climbs 25 places and takes 2nd place in the national education ranking
Last among the 27 state school systems in 2009, Piauí's high school system now has the second-highest score in the country on the Ideb, tied with Goiás and Espírito Santo and behind only Paraná. Under Governor Rafael Fonteles (PT-PI), in office since 2023, it rose from 6th to 2nd.
